What if my child is a mover? I am afraid he won't sit still during class.
In our classes, your child won't be expected to sit still and listen unless that's their personality! Children have many years ahead of them where they can take structured music lessons. At this age, we put a high value on allowing all personalities to experience music in their own way, whether they're walking around, jumping, sitting or just observing. Young children learn best through uninhibited play & exploration!
What will class be like? Do we just sit there & observe while our child plays instruments?
We sing in different languages, use fun instruments & props, dance along to super silly songs and explore our voices! Adults are ALWAYS encouraged to join in (dancing, singing, playing instruments) because YOU are your child's best model. We always end our classtime together with an energetic dance party, a cuddly lullaby time, and then we sing goodbye to each child by name.
I am desperate for community. Will this be a place where I can find that? Or do we just go to class and go home each week?
Besides the obvious goal of making Music Together®, we also want to foster an environment of community within our group. Our passion is to help connect our families with each other so they can do life together. We want you to connect, plan play dates and make forever friends. A few of our morning classes love to go out together right after class each week! This is just one reason why we have 10 week semesters rather than drop in classes.
Do we have to pay for each adult that attends? Can I bring a grandma or uncle with me?
You only pay for your children! We would love to meet any grandmas, grandpas, aunts or uncles that want to check the class out with you! All we ask is that they participate in the circle when they attend and that you bring no more than 2 visitors at a time. If they need to sit in a chair, we have that covered! We will set it up right in the circle so they can join in!
What ages are in the family classes?
Our family classes include ages birth through 5. We have mixed ages because the young ones can watch and learn from the older children, and the older children have the opportunity to be helpers for the younger kids.
What do we need to bring to class?
Yourselves! We provide all the instruments you need during class time.
Is there a discount for siblings?
Yes! We have a discount for siblings who are 9 months and older. For infant siblings UNDER 9 months, they get to attend for FREE! (Free infants does not apply to our babies class)
What is included in our registration?
*High quality classes
*CD with additional digital access to your music
*A colorful sing along book
*Email newletter
*Parent guide with valuable developmental information
*Growth Chart
Will it be the same music all year long?
No way! Music Together classes function on a 3 year cycle, using 9 different sets of music!!! Each year you will enjoy 3 different collections of music. So when you stay with us for the long haul, you will have a large collection of fun songs that you and your family can enjoy for years to come!
Ok, so I am not a big fan of silly kid songs with goofy instrumentation. Will I enjoy these classes or will they drive me crazy?
So glad you asked! We are not fans of low quality kid songs either! You are in luck because Music Together songs are high quality recordings with REAL acoustic instruments, a huge variety of songs that include world music in different languages, folk songs, traditional American songs and more!
What's this I hear about bonus classes?
Every family is given the opportunity to visit a class on another day without an added cost! If you miss a class for whatever reason, or if you want to attend a music class twice in one week, you can attend another class. In order to take advantage of this, you have to sign up for a make-up class on our family portal. There is VERY limited space for this, and we ask that each family use it as needed to allow space for everyone to do it on ocassion!
Do you offer piano or voice lessons?
Currently we only offer Music Together classes for ages birth through 5 years. There are several teachers who teach private lessons in the area, and you can also contact Guitar Center and Music & Arts.
BILLING QUESTIONS
If we register for classes, how many monthly payments are there?
You will have 9 equal payments. One will be non-refundable and paid at the time of registration. The remaining 8 payments will be made monthly from September 30-April 30.
With the new monthly billing system, will we have more classes? Or will the schedule be the same?
Our schedule remains the same as it has been for years! We will still offer 10 weekly classes in the fall, 8 in the winter and 10 in the spring. Each group of classes will have it's own set of music, and we take a long break for the holidays in November and December.
Now that we are on monthly payments, are we paying more? Why am I paying the same amount for a month that has only 2 classes?
No you are not paying more! We took the total amount that each family paid for the entire year (3 semesters) of classes and divided it by 9. No need to set reminders for each payment because we are able to auto-withdraw your payment every single month. Set it and forget it! Your registration also includes our two events: Jingle Jam Christmas Party and our End of Year Park Party!
When will be monthly payments be due?
We will run the auto-withdrawal using the card on file every month on the last day of the month for the FOLLOWING month's payment. The first payment after registration will be auto-withdrawn on the last day of September and will apply to the month of October and so on! (in 2026, payments will be: September 30, October 31, November 30, December 31, January 31, February 28, March 31, April 30)
What is your cancellation policy?
You will pay a deposit at the time of registration, which is equal to your monthly payment. If you cancel, the FULL non-refundable deposit will not be returned, and whatever additional monthly tuition has been paid will not be refundable. You may keep any materials that were provided to you.
We require 2 weeks notice if a family wants to cancel their enrollment to give us time to stop the auto-withdrawal. If notice is not given within this time frame, the next monthly payment may be forfeited if it cannot be cancelled in time. Each family can take a 1 month or 2 month pause during the year, and their spot in class will be saved. This also requires 2 weeks notice. If a longer pause is needed, your spot in class cannot be saved, but you are more than welcome to take a longer break as needed!
